How Do I Activate My Number?

  • Now, once you receive the physical card, either or offline, the jio agent will conduct a KYC wirelessly, it will be done in no time, very convenient. 
  • In about 45 mins once the KYC verification is done, you will receive a notification on your current number asking to tele-verify it. Here you must dial 1977 to initiate the Jio sim tele-verification process.
  • You will be directed to an automated call. Here, you will be asked to either input the last 4 digits of your Aadhar card number or input the 5 digit code sent on an alternate number.

How to Block My Jio Sim Card?

It is understandable to run into troubles like losing your phone, damage to your sim and other things. The process to block your sim is quite easy, all you need to do is follow the steps laid out below:

  • Call Jio helpline number 199 from the Jio sim that you own and initiate the blocking process.
  • If you do not have your sim on you, then you should call 1800 889 9999, the jio toll free number, from any other sim and request them to get your sim blocked. In this process you will be required to provide some information like your birthday, postal code of your address and when you purchased the sim. 
  • Alternatively, you can also use the jio customer care email id to block your sim, just mail them at care@jio.com. Or, just call 1909 to speed up the process.
  • In case you want to deactivate your sim, just call 198 to initiate the deactivation
  • Jio sim reactivation can be done within 15 days of deactivation of sim. If the sim is inactive for more than 15 days, you will have to visit the Jio store, with your identity proofs, to reactivate your sim card.

How do I activate my Jio eSIM?

If you are wondering what is an eSIM? It is just a replacement of the physical sim that you have. An eSIM can also be used for Tablets, Smartphones and Smartwatches. So, how do you activate your Jio eSIM? We have a detailed guide of the process to convert your physical jio sim to an eSIM online, so let's take a look.


Step 1: Open “Settings” on your phone and scroll down to the “about phone” section, there you will find the EID number and an IMEI number, make a note of these numbers.

Step 2: Now SMS GETESIM<32 Digit EID><15 Digit IMEI> to 199 from the device with an active Jio SIM. In case your email id is not updated you will get a response to update it. Just follow the procedure and repeat the process

Step 3: Once you receive your eSIM number, you will have to send an SMS to 199 again with SIMCHG <19-digit eSIM number>. It will take roughly 2 hours to receive an update regarding your eSIM processing. 

Step 4: After the above process is completed, SMS ‘1’ to 183, which is requested to receive an automated call from +91 2235072222. Once done, you will receive an SMS which will be for the confirmation of the activation of your eSIM.

 

After this activation process you need to configure the eSIM on your device. The process differs a bit for the devices compatible with eSIM. But don’t worry 101 Internet has you covered. 

 

      

For iPhone Users 

You will receive a notification for the configuration of your profile on the device. Open it and tap gently Install Data Plan. Thereafter, tap on continue. And you are all set.

If you did not receive any notification, head to the settings of your device, there you will see “Jio Data Plan Ready to be Installed”, just tap on it. And on the next page just tap “continue”. And you are ready to use the eSIM services. 

By any means, if you neither received the notification nor do you see “Jio Data Plan Ready to be Installed”. Just go to “Mobile data” and tap on “Add data plan”. There you will find a Jio option, just tap on and add the data plan, press continue. And you are all set to go.

 

 

For Samsung users

Once the activation process is completed head to the Settings, then go to Connections and now choose SIM card manager. Here under the eSIM section, you need to select add mobile plan and select scan carrier QR code. 

You don’t have to scan any QR code but you will have to enter the code manually, which is “LPA:1$smdprd.jio.com$Activationcode”. The “Activationcode” followed by the ‘$’ symbol needs to be replaced by the 32 digit activation code that you received through SMS. Just select connect  and your Jio eSIM should be ready to use soon after.

 

For Google phone (Pixel) users

Go to the settings > network and internet > mobile network. There, select download a SIM instead. Tap on next, and once you are on the “scan the QR code from network” screen select need help and then select the option to enter it manually

Now enter the code manually, which is “LPA:1$smdprd.jio.com$Activationcode”. The “Activationcode” followed by the ‘$’ symbol needs to be replaced by the 32 digit activation code that you received through SMS. Now continue  and activate your eSIM. Once the process is complete, select done and enjoy your Jio eSIM.



Some important information to remember while activating your Jio eSIM

  • Make sure your mobile device is always connected to the internet which you are configuring.
  • Remove Data Plan” or “Erase Plan” will permanently delete your eSIM profile, so DO NOT select these options.
  • By any chance if the eSIM profile gets deleted, visit the Jio store, Reliance Digital or Jio retailer with your identity proof for the sim swap process.
  • The activation code is for one time use and one device only.
